Loimu is a small hotel by Lake Ylläsjärvi – a place you arrive to as if visiting a friend.
Seven rooms, each unique in its own way.
A restaurant where food is made with care and without haste.
A cozy hotel where you can enjoy the sauna, dine, spend the evening, or host a gathering – in your own peace.
The smoke sauna, lakeside sauna and Jacuzzi offer warmth and rest when you need it.
Here, you don’t have to do anything – but everything is ready if you feel like it.
In summer, Loimu offers peace by the lake, hiking trails, light and time.
In winter, ski and snowmobile trails pass right by, and the local bus takes you to the slopes or Äkäslompolo.
And when the dark nights return, the sky begins to move
The northern lights appear above Lake Ylläsjärvi – silently, unexpectedly, just when it's time.
You don’t need to chase them. Just stop and look.

Accommodation
Loimu has seven rooms.
Each is a peaceful, simple, and beautiful little world – just the right size.
Every room includes a private bathroom, a coffee maker, and a small set of toiletries. Everything essential is here, nothing unnecessary.
From the window, you'll see the landscape of Ylläsjärvi – sometimes closer, sometimes farther.
That’s enough.
There’s no television, because here, we watch something else.
The fire. The lake. Or just be.
In the morning, the sauna is warm, the lake awaits, and breakfast is being prepared.
It’s all part of your stay – as it should be.
Restaurant
In Loimu’s kitchen, we cook food that tastes and feels just right.
We use Finnish ingredients, favor local producers, and follow the seasons.
The food is straightforward, made with thought and prepared with care – nothing more, nothing less.
The restaurant has 46 seats.
People come here for dinner, to gather, to celebrate or to enjoy a simple evening. Every moment is important to us.
The restaurant is open daily from 11.00-23.00.
A la Carte daily 16.00-22.00.

Sauna
At Loimu, the sauna is not an extra – it’s an essential part of the stay.
Warmth, water, and a moment for yourself or with others. Nothing more is needed.
For overnight guests, the morning sauna is always included.
If you'd like to enjoy it longer or privately, the whole sauna area can be booked for private use – also for non-guests.
The sauna facilities include a smoke sauna, the Pirtti’s electric sauna, a Jacuzzi, and in winter an ice hole (or a lake swim in summer).
The Pirtti can also be used for private dining – we offer three different menus.
Private sauna (3 hours)
€399 / 2 persons – extra guests +€15
Includes towels, sauna, ice hole and Jacuzzi
Private smoke sauna (4 hours)
€550 / 2 persons – extra guests +€15
Includes smoke sauna, towels, electric sauna, ice hole and Jacuzzi
Drinks can be pre-ordered to the sauna.
And afterward, there’s no rush to be anywhere.
Wednesday sauna
The hottest thing on Wednesdays in Ylläs? Sauna.
Wednesdays – aka the little Saturdays – bring heat to Loimu’s sauna nights:
- Public sauna session from 6 PM to 9 PM
- Sauna & swim in Lake Ylläsjärvi
- Bring your swimsuit and your own towel
- €20 / person – pay at the restaurant counter
There aren’t many places in Ylläs where you can just show up and have a nice sauna time –
but now there is.

Loimu Resort
Loimu was born from a desire to create a hotel where guests genuinely feel welcome.
Not just to stay – but to be. To rest, to laugh, to pause – to be where you need to be.
What matters most to us is that Loimu feels right – for you and for us.
Here, we don’t hurry or put on roles. We meet people honestly and warm the sauna properly.
Loimu is not big. And it doesn’t need to be.
We have seven rooms, a kitchen where food is prepared with care, and a Pirtti with two saunas whose warmth is hard to leave.
And if you want, we’ll help you build your holiday – just the way you want it.
Not fixed packages – just the right pieces for you.

Breakfast is always included with your stay — as it should be.
In Loimu, the morning starts slowly and gently: the sauna warms up, the lake awaits and the kitchen prepares a delicious breakfast that tastes good to all the senses.

Ylläs Sauna World – Development Project
Loimu Resort is carrying out a development project called Ylläksen Saunamaailma, co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (EAKR) as a part of the Renewing and Skilled Finland 2021–2027 – EU regional and structural policy programme.
In the first phase of the project, we have built new pathways to the saunas and renewed the smoke sauna stoveThese improvements support Loimu’s goal of developing year-round sauna and wellbeing services in Ylläsjärvi
